Sustainability is not just a trend of the moment , when it seems that there is no other choice to recover the damage done to the environment and to our health.

Sustainability is a lifestyle in which man lives in an environment thinking about the environment, its protection and conservation, respect for all animals, as indispensable to earthly life and a precious wealth to be handed down to our children.

Over the span of a human lifetime, our environment is seriously compromised, and we won't have such a long time frame to fix it.

The transition to sustainable choices is certainly not easy , but in small steps, with small daily choices, even choosing not to buy is a precious choice. We have to buy less and better!

Because  we are all called into question when the massification of products, overproduction and the enormity of waste, irreparably compromise our health.

The conscious choice of organic products, eco-sustainable clothing, certainly helps, but it is the real maintenance of the garments, avoiding waste, that will make the difference!

GOTS

immagine logo GOTS

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)

it is the most important organic certificate for the production of the textile sector. It is promoted by international bodies such as Organic Trade Association, IVN, Japanese Organic Cotton Association, Soil Association and other associations for environmental and social protection at a global level.

Only textile products that contain at least 70% organic fibers can become GOTS certified. All chemical additives used as dyes and auxiliaries must meet certain environmental and toxicological criteria. A wastewater treatment plant is mandatory for all affected treatment units and all processors must meet social criteria.

As for other textile certifications, also for the GOTS certification, the checks are carried out by the Italian ICEA body.

MODAL ®

Modal

Modal® is an ecological fabric made from beech fiber. It is produced by Lenzing AG, an Austrian company specialized in the production of fibers from cellulose, such as Tencel®. For the production of Modal, it uses its own beech plantation to obtain cellulose. The company has developed low environmental impact technology to produce this fabric.

Modal is a very soft fabric that is also used in combination with other fabrics to improve its quality. It looks like a fabric with high comfort, has a good resistance to color fading and shrinkage of the fabric, does not flap and does not create the "pilling" effect common in cotton.

TENCEL ®

Tencel

Tencel / Lyocell is an artificial fabric of natural origin as it derives from the regeneration of Eucalyptus wood cellulose. The fabric thus obtained has great moisture absorption properties preventing the formation of bacteria and the growth of dust mites so that Tencel can be classified as a hypoallergenic fabric.

The production process is not very polluting: even the solvents used are non-toxic, as well as being completely recyclable .

Eucalyptus trees are grown by companies certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), respecting the standards socially and responsibly useful for the environment.

Tencel® is a Lenzing brand, an Austrian company that has won several prizes awarded by the European Union to companies that are committed to sustainable production.
